Wt's and Awakes at laundermats
by loosie inmy washer recently went out.

Have you ever seen the Witnesses set up an 'information' table outside of Wal-Mart ? I have been thinking about talking to the manager there and ask if ANYONE can do this .....Wouldn't it be nice to set up a laptop feasturing JWFACTS or something similar ?

Jehovah's Witnesses - Once Again the Fastest Growing Faith in the U.S.
by davidl7 inaccording to the latest statistics published by the ncc in its yearbook of american and canadian churches, the jehovah's witnesess had the highest growth rate, in 2010 growing 4.37%.
this is, i believe, is the 4th year in a row, that the witnesses had the highest growth rate.
roman catholics grew by less than 1%, as did most of the other churches listed.

CO's putting the screws on elder bodies, and ministerial servants to auxilliary pioneer this April.
by miseryloveselders ini have such a love/hate, 50/50 relationship with this organization any more, but a letter was read to the elders and ministerial servants that has pushed me to the 30/70 range in favor of hate, if even momentarily.
most of you if not all are aware of the auxilliary pioneering initiative for this upcoming april.
it's no secret that i'm not real fond of pioneering as its unscriptural for one thing.

I have been thinking of setting up an information table @ Walmart to counter the JW table they set up there in summer ......maybe April would be a GOOD time :)

England is poisoned for me
by highdose ini used to live in a part of england that was popular with tourists.
the kind of tourist who wanted to experiance the "real" rural england.
they would come to my town and thrill at the quaint old shops, delight in afternoon tea at the many little tea rooms.

What a wonderful descriptive way you have with writing . I can feel and understand exactly what you mean . A shame such a beautiful countryside has been tarnished for you by the JW experience .
The small town I live in is considered idyllic by many .....but at every turn I am only reminded of the shackles and oppression I felt under the Wtbts thumb. When the weather is nice here everyone enjoys walking their dogs along the park like streets .For me it is not so enjoyable ....to walk my dog down my street I have to pass by six different JW homes all former friends that will not even afford me a wave hello . Two of those homes are occupied by my husbands nephews ....one never even informed us of his blessing of a child ,the other would not even call to say he was getting married . When I do venture by and any of these former friends are outside they turn their heads in glorified shunning or quickly walk in the opposite direction . It is hard to be reminded everyday I was raised in and wasted over 40 yrs in a CULT . I would love to move on and pretend it never happened ,but how do you do that with daily reminders like this ...?
I am so happy for you that you were able to move away and start fresh ! Bask in the sunshine Highdose and soak in the freedom you now have .

So Caitlin isn't ignored as the other kids pass Valentines at school
by cabasilas ini'm getting my education degree this year and am working in a practicum placement in an elementary classroom (5th grade).
it's a very practical way to see first-hand how teachers teach, discipline and help mold their students.
one student is a jw.

What a great Teacher ! It is a good lesson for her students too . It is good for them to think of ways to show acceptance and kindness . I hope the JW little girl will be thrilled and happy to know her classmates love her too .

JWs Celebrating Brithdays
by Franklin Massey ini keep hearing of more and more jws that are celebrating their birthdays or, doing "special days" for their children on the day of their birth.
i'm sure this has always been done but what interests me is that many people aren't ashamed to admit it since they have used their own fully functioning minds to figure out that the society's birthday ban doesn't hold up.
one young couple with two kids (he's an ms, she's an ex-pioneer who dropped off the list to tend to the kids) explained it to me this way.... "the happiest days of our lives include the births of our children.

It is great some are using their thinking abilities ......but it is too bad they have to do so quietly and in secret . I imagine they have to tell the kids not to say anything at the Kingdom Hall about it ?
